With feather and pen - exhibition

The days are passing at a surprisingly fast pace and another beautiful, atmospheric evening is behind us....

Every exhibition organised by our Folk High School is different, unique and each one is special. So is the current exhibition 'With feather and pen' by Włodzimierz Pankiewicz, the opening of which took place yesterday.

It was an extraordinary meeting with an outstanding artist with a rich artistic output, who is no stranger to wood carving, glass painting, modelling and pyrography. However, our Artist's greatest loves are drawing and poetry, and these too reigned supreme during yesterday's evening. Mr Pankiewicz has over 3,500 poems in his oeuvre. We were able to listen to a small sample of this in the performance of Wojtek Jarka. One of these poems was sung, which was a surprise for Mr Pankiewicz. The silence, so silent that it was loud, which fell during the recitation, was the best proof of the beauty of this poetry. The rich, spiritual experience we were able to experience together yesterday put us in a perfect mood, gave us a moment of peace, a respite from the daily hustle and bustle.

"Talk to me
With a high word.
One that is difficult to find
today is difficult
To lift me up
Into the clouds, a conversation
with you wonderful' /Włodzimierz Pankiewicz/.

The exhibition also features more than 40 extraordinary drawings, whose precision, form and composition leave their viewers in awe. It is impossible to pass by these works indifferently. Everyone could find something for themselves. The works included portraits of people and animals, nudes, architecture and still life.
However, the greatest experience was the meeting with the artist himself, who let us in on a little of the mystery of how he creates, what he likes and what he loves. He answered a lot of questions from the guests, often "difficult" questions, who were very curious about his work, often evoking hoots of laughter from the numerous members of the audience.

We would like to thank Mr Włodzimierz Pankiewicz very much for being willing to exhibit at our venue. That he shared his rich artistic output with us. We would also like to thank the guests, who were so numerous that, as usual, they did not disappoint and wished to be with us on that day.

The exhibition can be viewed for the next month. You are all warmly invited!
